Tora Natsuko

Utami Hayashishita

Kaori Yoneyama ●

Ahead of their match against Mayu Iwatani and Saki Kashima at Korakuen Hall on December 24th, Goddesses of Stardom champions Momo Watanabe and Utami Hayashishita will face off against JAN's Natsuko Tora and Kaori Yoneyama. Watanabe's Queens Quest team defeated JAN's Jungle Kyona and Natsuko Tora at Korakuen Hall in November to claim the title, and Utami officially announced her joining Queens Quest. They will undoubtedly be aiming for another victory against JAN in this match. Natsuko and Yoneyama could also become contenders for the title depending on the result and performance, so their fight against the champions will be closely watched. Natsuko seems to harbor distrust towards Kyona, but what are her feelings towards her tag team with Yoneyama and towards JAN as a whole? Furthermore, this is a preliminary match for the Wonder of Stardom title match between the two champions, Watanabe and Natsuko. The tactics between the two teams will also be a point of interest

Natsuko called out, "Momo, come out!" designating the champion to start the match. Momo responded, and the match began with a powerful lock-up. In a test of strength, Natsuko quickly pushed Momo to the ropes. Natsuko jumped in with a spear, but Momo caught her tightly. Momo went for a front neck lock, and Natsuko lifted her up and slammed her into the corner. Utami tried to break up the pin, but Natsuko caught her, and both of them fell victim to the spear in the corner. Natsuko covered Momo, but it was only a two count. She threw Natsuko into the corner and delivered a running elbow attack and a major outer reaping throw. When Natsuko kicked out, Utami applied a camel clutch. Momo anticipates the situation and throws Yoneyama, who is waiting in the wings, out of the ring. Utami releases the camel and delivers a series of stomps before dashing forward. Natsuko sends her flying with a shoulder tackle. Yoneyama weaves her way through the two and makes them collide. She then hits both of them with a senton. Yoneyama hits Utami with a Mongolian chop, a spinning punch, and a cross chop. However, Utami slams her to the mat with a hip throw. Momo delivers a series of soccer ball kicks to Yoneyama. Natsuko cuts in from behind and they exchange elbows over the apron. Momo hits Natsuko with a middle kick. Natsuko goes for an elbow, and Momo retaliates. Natsuko charges after a series of strikes, but Momo lands a counter middle kick. Momo calls Utami into the ring and throws her into the ropes. However, Natsuko spears them both at once. Yoneyama delivers a diving senton, and Natsuko hits Momo with a frog splash. Natsuko is about to ascend to heaven, but Utami makes the cut just in time. Yoneyama takes Utami out of the ring. Natsuko unleashes a right high kick on Momo. It hits hard and Natsuko goes down. However, Momo is also having trouble getting up. As Momo tries to tag in, Yoneyama knees her from behind. Yoneyama and Natsuko try to lift Momo up together, and Utami joins in. JAN successfully executes a brainbuster. Natsuko and Yoneyama dive in two directions. However, QQ dodges and Momo lands a series of dropkicks on Yoneyama. Momo goes for a back suplex and then a Soumatou. Yoneyama rolls her up when she tries for a B Driver. Utami breaks up the exchange of roll-ups. Natsuko lands a series of elbows on Momo. Momo puts Natsuko in a sleeper hold. Utami delivers an Argentine backflip to Yoneyama. Meanwhile, Momo eliminates Natsuko with a Tequila Sunrise. Momo delivers a Soumatou to Yoneyama. When Yoneyama countered, Momo went for a diving Soumatou. Yoneyama couldn't counter, and Momo got the three count. After the match, Momo showed off her white belt, and a tense confrontation ensued with Natsuko

Comments from Momo & Shimi

Momo: "Well, it wasn't directly against Natsuko, but I did get a three-count on Kaori Yoneyama. And before that, I put Natsuko in a tequila choke, and she was practically dead, so I think I can win the next title match with that. I absolutely want to defend this belt."

--Today's opponent is JAN. The last time you won the belt was with the Kyoko-gumi, and today you're facing a different unit of JAN. Were you aware of that?

Momo: "Ah, I don't really think about it that much. I think that even if my tag team partner changes, it's just the same kind of people that will be gathered, so I wasn't particularly worried about that."

--Were you focused on the previous match against Natsuko?

Momo: "That's right. I was more focused on Natsuko than Kaori Yoneyama. I couldn't beat her directly, but I was able to use Tequila Sunrise, so I'd like to win with that."

--I imagine it's rare for Shimi to have the opportunity to compete against a veteran like Yoneyama

Shimi: "That's right. Today I was up against Yoneyama-san and Natsuko-san, and it was a preliminary match for Momo-san, but I think I was able to fight hard and not lose to them."

--What about the tag team title defense at Korakuen Hall on December 24th?

Momo: "Ah, yes. It's busy (wry smile). It's busy, but it's the final match and we're in the main event, so we want to defend our title and show everyone that QQ is better than STARS."

--Momo will be headlining most of the Korakuen Hall events this year

Momo: "Yes. I'm really happy about it, and I'd like to continue doing it next year as well."

--Shimi will also be headlining many matches at Korakuen Hall after the 5☆STAR GP finals

Utami: "Yes, that's right. Momo has been the main event for a long time, and so have I, so I think the two of us can definitely defend our titles in the next title defense. We'll also take the Artist of the Year title before that, so Momo will have three titles and I'll have two titles when we ring in the new year."

◆STARS vs. Oedo Tai 6-Man Tag Team Match 30-Minute Single Fall Match

○ Kagetsu

16 minutes 32 seconds
: Oedo Coaster → Single Leg Crab Hold

Iwatani Mayu

Hazuki

Arisa Hoshiki

Summer violets Nakano Tamu●

The main event is a six-woman tag team match between STARS and Oedo Tai. While it's a full-on unit showdown, the relationship between Arisa Hoshiki and Tam Nakano will have an impact. Hoshiki has joined STARS, while Nakano is hesitant to join. How will unit leader Iwatani mediate this? Oedo Tai, with their (supposedly) best lineup of Kagetsu, Hazuki, and Natsumi, will face Hoshiki for the first time. If Kagetsu's team falls into their trap, STARS could be on the verge of falling apart…

When Hoshiki steps forward, Nakano pushes her aside. A scuffle ensues, and Nakano volunteers to be the first to enter the ring. The match starts with Nakano vs. Kagetsu. After a struggle for neck control, Kagetsu applies a front neck lock. When Nakano goes for a headlock, Kagetsu takes it to the ground. Kagetsu is on top of Nakano, but Nakano tries to grab her hair. Kagetsu applies a neck lock from below. When Hazuki comes out, Nakano tags Iwatani instead of Hoshiki. Iwatani and Hazuki engage in a rope-work battle. Neither gives an inch in the exchange of roll-up attempts. Iwatani tags Hoshiki. Hoshiki and Natsu face off. When Natsu throws a low kick, Hoshiki can't help but laugh. Natsu withstands Hoshiki's low kick. Kagetsu shouts, "Show her what you've got, Natsu!" Natsu stops Hoshiki, sits down to provoke her, and makes Hoshiki throw a soccer ball kick at her. Hoshiki's barrage of attacks made Natsu's forced bravado obvious as she said, "It feels good." Then Natsu said, "That's enough. Please stop." When Hoshiki dashed forward, Kagetsu pulled her leg, and the fight went outside the ring. Kagetsu greeted Hoshiki with, "Nice to meet you, Hoshiki!" before attacking her outside the ring. Hazuki tormented Iwatani in the audience. Five minutes passed. In the ring were Hoshiki and Natsu. Natsu cornered Hoshiki and gave her a Bronco Buster. Kagetsu threw Hoshiki into the ropes and sprayed her with water. She also sprayed Iwatani, who was waiting on the sidelines. Hazuki stomped on Hoshiki's throat and then sprayed her face with water. Natsu threw Hoshiki into the ropes and whipped her. She went for a Dragon Sleeper and applied it to Iwatani, who tried to interfere. Nakano then interfered, but Hoshiki didn't help, and Natsu maintained the sleeper hold. As Natsu goes for a spear attack, Hoshiki dodges and delivers a series of middle kicks followed by a spear double knee attack. Iwatani hits Natsu with a spear dropkick. Kagetsu and Hazuki grab Iwatani, but Iwatani whips them both with an arm whip and then teams up with Nakano for a dropkick. They also attack Natsu with a double combination. Iwatani hits Natsu with a series of elbows. Natsu hits Iwatani with a brainbuster hold. Iwatani kicks out and 10 minutes have passed. Hazuki puts Iwatani in a full nelson. Iwatani endures and they exchange elbows. Hazuki hits a series of elbows but Iwatani hits a thrust kick and a sling blade. Hazuki kicks out and Iwatani applies a modified Manji hold. Hoshiki enters and applies an AMA hold. Nakano sits cross-legged and poses in front of them. Hoshiki hits Hazuki with a spear double knee attack. Hazuki charges forward but Hoshiki counters and drops a double knee. When Hazuki retaliates, Hoshiki charges forward. Hazuki anticipates this and pulls her leg back, then teams up with Kagetsu for a coordinated attack. Kagetsu says, "That's all you've got," and delivers a series of middle kicks to Hoshiki. Hoshiki endures and retaliates with a middle kick of her own. After an exchange of middle kicks, Kagetsu applies a chokehold. As Kagetsu charges, Hoshiki delivers a thrust kick. Kagetsu retaliates, and Hoshiki delivers a series of strikes. She climbs to the corner and attempts a 1339, but Kagetsu manages to counter. Hoshiki pulls Kagetsu up and delivers a double knee attack. However, it is discovered that she had tagged in while Kagetsu's back was turned, and Nakano enters the ring. Hoshiki retreats. As Kagetsu charges, Nakano dodges and delivers a knee attack. She takes Kagetsu's back and executes a German suplex. However, the referee breaks up the pinfall, and it's only a two count. Nakano and Iwatani perform a German suplex in combination. Nakano charges at Kagetsu and delivers a Violet Shooting. 15 minutes have passed. Hazuki throws Iwatani off, and Natsu pulls her leg back, sending them outside the ring. After being rejected by Hoshiki, Hazuki changed direction with a plancha to the outside. Nakano pinned Kagetsu but only got a two count. Nakano got behind her but Hoshiki's Brazilian kick was dodged by Kagetsu and hit her by mistake. Hazuki hit Iwatani and Hoshiki with a swan dive missile kick. Kagetsu followed up with the Oedo Coaster from the Summer Yoran. Nakano couldn't counter and the Oedo Tai team won

Kagetsu: "You guys from Osaka..."

Hazuki takes the microphone in place of the (presumably) heavily damaged Kagetsu

Hazuki: "Hey you guys in Osaka, how are you?! Once again, how are you?! Okay, first announcement. The super popular Oedo Tai hoodies are back in stock starting today! They're so popular they'll sell out quickly, so you'd better get one soon. Buy it now. It has all the Oedo Tai members' names on it. Wear the Oedo Tai hoodie and Natsu's T-shirt underneath. Natsu's T-shirts are really popular, aren't they? And one more thing. There are four Osaka shows scheduled for January next year. That's because Oedo Tai is so popular. I'm sure you'll all come to all four shows. There's no one who won't come, right? You're all going, aren't you? You all better come and see us, because Oedo Tai is evolving and you'll be left behind! Now that the announcements are over, Kagetsu, can you speak?"

Kagetsu: "Yes, I can speak. Did you enjoy the last Osaka show of 2018? Since today is the last day in Osaka, let me, Kagetsu, say one thing to all of you who came today. I am the 10th World of Stardom Champion. I am well aware that everyone is after my neck like this. Today, I only used the Oedo Coaster as my move. But there is only one thing I want to convey to you all about what it means to be a champion. I believe that a champion is someone who can withstand every move, no matter what position they are in, no matter the time, and under what circumstances, and still win. As long as I am in Stardom, as long as I am the Stardom Champion, I will not waver in that attitude. So, if you want to see Champion Kagetsu, please come again next year. Got it? Okay, since this is the last day, we will wrap things up. Believe in Oedo Tai and let's do our best tomorrow as well. We are Oedo Tai!"

Comment from Oedo Tai

Kagetsu: "The Osaka tournament, the last Osaka tournament of the year, was closed out by the Oedo Tai team."

Summer "Happy Ending"

Hazuki: "As expected."

Kagetsu: "It was a happy ending. I guess that's what the audience wanted. And at the end, Kagetsu-sama gave the people of Osaka some very kind words. Osaka will be safe next year too. Right, Natsu-san!"

Natsu: "Yes, that's right! Of course..."

Kagetsu: "Oh, is it over?"

Summer is over

Kagetsu: "Hey, Hazuki-san."

Hazuki: "Yes, that's right!"

Kagetsu: "That's all for now. So, I'll do my best in the remaining three matches!"

--This was your first time working with Hoshiki, wasn't it?

Kagetsu: "This is our first time. How was it?"

Hazuki: "You're weak. You're a newcomer."

Natsu: "Your eyes don't seem to be smiling."

Hazuki: "It can't be helped, it can't be helped."

Natsu: "Her eyes don't quite have a smile on them, so she's a little scary."

Kagetsu: "...They're not smiling, are they? None of the STARS are smiling. There's no smile in their eyes."

Hazuki: "It can't be helped. I'm not shining."

Kagetsu: "Well, certainly, Hoshiki, well, her kicks are really solid. But, as I said at the end, a champion, a professional wrestler, is someone who can withstand the moves and win no matter what the situation, no matter the opponent, that's what a professional, a champion."

Hazuki: "As expected."

Kagetsu: "No matter how strong his kicks are, I think it's still going to take some time before he can surpass us, the Oedo Tai."
